The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) was recognized last Thursday by the Northern Nevada Human Resource Association (NNHRA) as a Best Place to Work in the greater Reno-Tahoe area, placing second. This is the third year running the NRHA has been recognized as a finalist.
An innovator in housing programs, the NRHA focuses on all facets of housing, from the homeless to the homebuyer. The heart of their mission is the caring for people and families. This extends beyond the relationships that drive their success as an agency partner and program provider. It’s what drives the inner workings of the agency and cultivates their strength.
“NRHA is the best place to work because we’ve got the best people doing the work,” NRHA executive director Gary Longaker said. “Our people are our greatest strength and I can tell you, any of our achievements as a team can be credited to the hardworking people who truly care about making a difference in the lives of others.”
Through their leadership, the NRHA has not only become a Best Place to Work in Nevada, but a national leader and model for affordable housing programs, and fostering partnerships and relationships across the country.
About the Best Places to Work Program
The Best Places to Work Program initiative was designed in 2008 by the NNHRA to honor organizations who deliver an outstanding work experience. NNHRA provides Northern Nevada businesses with programs like the Best Places to Work program to educate and inspire the region’s workforce. Based on surveys completed by employees, businesses gain valuable insight on several areas including employee engagement, leadership development, employee recognition, recruitment, manager involvement and turnover and retention.
