Tammy’s financial management experience includes a wide variety of sectors including non-profit and government, education, hospitality, manufacturing, and real estate development. Her extensive real estate experience includes working with publically traded construction companies with large-scale developments in California. Most recently, Tammy was Corporate Controller for Rite of Passage where she oversaw finances for twelve residential care facilities, seven schools and six qualifying houses spread across eight states.
Sprawling organizations with multiple divisions, budget forecasting in uncertain times, tearing apart data and making it easy to understand, compliance and grant audits—Tammy loves it all. Not only does she have a passion for all aspects of accounting, she enjoys a challenge and is always looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
Tammy is a Certified Management Accountant and former college accounting professor with a B.S. and an MBA from California State University, San Bernardino. She also held a Mensa membership for several years. So, it’s safe to say, Tammy knows her way around a ledger.
Intelligent, driven, passionate—you can describe Tammy in much the same way she describes the Greyhound dogs that she advocates for and has adopted into her family. While she may have a soft spot for these sleek retired racers, she isn’t ready to retire her own need for speed. When she’s not balancing budgets, you will find Tammy opening up the throttle on Lake Tahoe, on her motorcycle, or skiing the slopes of Heavenly. She also enjoys hiking around the Sierra Nevadas.
Tammy is a proud mother and grandmother. She shares her Minden, Nevada home with her beloved greyhound and various family members. In addition to her volunteer work with Nevada Greyhounds Unlimited, she served on the Volunteer Committee for Douglas County’s Kids’ Fishing Derby from 2008-2013, including a term as President.
