My new job doesn’t come with a new home. But it does come with the resources to help me get one!

As one of the newest employees of Nevada Rural Housing Authority I have been able to experience what life changing programs this company has to offer. Buying a house is a huge step, and making sure you choose the right home with comfortable payments is critical. I myself have yet to purchase a home, but learning about the many loan options available reassures me that when I find the right home, there will be resources out there for me to utilize.

Over the last few years I have been considering purchasing a new home. However, my biggest hurdle is the down payment. The thought of saving up 3-5% of the purchase price for a down payment is overwhelming–it could take years. This hurdle has frustrated my dream of buying a home of my own in the past.

With the knowledge I have gained at NRHA, I have learned that there are many programs available to assist me, and one is our Home at LastTM program. It makes me wonder why I have waited so long to research this, as I could have already purchased a home I looked at last year.

I have seen people with all different kinds of backgrounds qualify for home loans in the three months I have been at NRHA. I enjoy being able to work for a company that helps make positive life changes possible in families all over the state. Every day I am able learn something new, whether it’s simply a job skill, or seeing what it takes for someone to succeed in a home purchase. I am grateful to be a part of the team at NRHA, and look forward to what my future has in store, perhaps even buying my first home.
