Project Based (Housing) Voucher Wait List Will Open March 19, 2021 for Larios Arms II Apartments in Winnemucca

NOTE: As of 8/30/21, this wait list is closed.

Carson City, Nev.  – The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) announced its Project Based Voucher (PBV) wait list for Larios Arms II Apartments in Winnemucca will open on March 19, 2021 at 9 a.m. and will remain open until further notice. The PBV program is part of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, which is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly and the disabled with access to housing. A PBV differs from an HCV in that it helps pay for rent in specific, privately owned buildings or units.

Larios Arms II is a senior housing complex, offers one- and two-bedroom apartments and is next to the senior center. The property includes amenities such as energy-efficient appliances, tankless water heaters, washer/dryer hookups, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, elevator, onsite management, security cameras, community room and kitchen, barbecue area, business center, fitness room and community garden.

To qualify, all households must meet income requirements set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition, the head, spouse or co-head must be 62 years or older as Larios Arms is a senior housing complex. Preference will be given to veterans.

Applications for NRHA’s list will be accepted online at NVRural.org/applicants. NRHA uses a random lottery selection to award vouchers. There are no numbers or positions “in line,” ensuring anyone who qualifies to join the wait list will have adequate time to do so.

In addition to the HCV and PBV programs, NRHA’s Rental Services division is helping Nevada renters during the pandemic through the CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP).
