Home At Last™ Recognized at Las Vegas Black Image Magazine Honors Banquet

In celebration of Black History Month, Las Vegas Black Image Magazine hosted its annual Taste and Sounds of Soul Banquet honoring those in the Las Vegas area dedicated to diversity and inclusion efforts. Home At Last™, a program by Nevada Rural Housing, was recognized for its community outreach efforts in southern Nevada.

“Taste and Sounds of Soul is a night dedicated to commemorating Black History Month through today’s leaders,” said Kimberly, owner of Black Image Magazine. “Local community members and organizations were recognized for their dedication to their efforts in cultural diversity, and we were thrilled to show our appreciation to the Home At Last™ program for its work in bringing homeownership opportunities to the community.”

Home At Last™ has been working with Las Vegas Black Image Magazine to help bring equitable homeownership opportunities to the southern Nevada community while reinforcing diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring all rural Nevadans can not only succeed in homeownership, but thrive within all the benefits it brings.

“We’re honored to be recognized by Black Image Magazine,” said Kevin Hickey, Business Development Specialist for Home At Last™. “Black Image Magazine is a tremendous community partner and advocate. I’m so grateful to work alongside them to get our message out that homeownership can be affordable, especially with programs like Home At Last™.”

Home At Last™ provides affordable loans and down payment assistance up to five percent of the loan amount, for households making up to $150,000. The program is available in areas with populations under 150,000 – in Clark County, this includes Enterprise, Mountain’s Edge, Southern Highlands, Whitney, Winchester and Summerlin South.

In addition to the loan and assistance options, Home At Last™ offers the Mortgage Credit Certificate, which provides a dollar-for-dollar tax credit that increases qualifying income, lowers debt-to-income ratios and saves homebuyers thousands of dollars over the life of the loan. The HAL Pals Pet Adoption Program is another exclusive benefit offered to Home At Last™ program participants – new homebuyers are presented with a voucher to cover up to $300 of the pet adoption fee at their local animal shelter within 60 days of purchasing their home. All Home At Last™ program information plus a comprehensive homebuyer education course is available online at HomeAtLastEducation.org.

Through devoted partnerships like that of Black Image Magazine’s, Nevada Rural Housing’s Home At Last™ program is dedicated to breaking down boundaries for our rural Nevada communities by providing equitable homeownership opportunities and amplifying our mission at NRHA to new heights – making homeownership more than just a dream, but a reality.
