Nevada Rural Housing Helps Bring the Holiday Spirit to the Residents of Richards Crossing

Nevada Rural Housing (NRH) announced it is accepting holiday gift donations for the residents of the Richards Crossing apartment complex in Carson City. Richards Crossing, a 38 single-family unit affordable housing development by NRH, is home to the formerly homeless, displaced veterans and extremely low-income. The donation list will provide residents with essential items around the holiday season, such as gloves, hats and toiletries.

“Richards Crossing is such a special place, not only for our residents but also for our community.” said Heather Simola, NRH real estate property manager. “Richards Crossing is more than a place to live because it provides a true community in which residents can thrive, and it’s only made possible by our amazing staff, and generous volunteers and donors.”

NRH has created an Amazon Wish List based on the residents’ needs. Anyone is welcome to visit the Amazon link below and purchase any of the available gifts, which will ship directly to the management at Richards Crossing for distribution to all of its residents: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1ZPHJ3HJYX6W7/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2

At Richards Crossing, eight units are reserved for chronically homeless veterans and receive rental assistance from the U.S. Veterans Administration, while the other 31 units receive Section 8 project-based rental assistance. Since the property opened in 2017, it has maintained full occupancy. For more information about Richards Crossing, please visit NRHA’s Community Development Group website.
