Prior to joining NRHA, Tiffany worked as Controller for Zephyr Cove Resort at Lake Tahoe where she managed, coached and mentored a team of 10—as well as developed and implemented policies and procedures for all aspects of accounting. From there, Tiffany left the mainland for Lahaina, Hawaii, where she joined Starwood Vacation Ownership, an international collection of timeshare resorts as a financial analyst. In this role, Tiffany worked for the company’s properties in California, Colorado, Arizona, Mexico and Hawaii. She also developed and prepared annual operating and capital budgets, led and managed a housekeeping cost-per-clean study for over 1,500 units, and streamlined IT month-end reporting, capital labor and capital spend (cutting time by an impressive four days per month). During her tenure with Starwood, Tiffany was awarded several promotions, with her final role being that of Senior Financial Analyst II.
In 2015, after much success with Starwood, Tiffany accepted a position as our team’s Controller. When asked what it was that led her to make the switch, Tiffany cites the fact that NRHA offered an opportunity that was the polar opposite of her previous role in the resorts and hospitality industry. The notion of using her extensive experience in forecasting and budget planning to help deserving, lower-income families find homes they can afford was an opportunity Tiffany found attractive.
Her favorite part of her current role with our team? The complexity of the job. She loves managing the multiple moving pieces that are Section-8 housing, development, private funding, federal grants, and—of course—the clients and homebuyers themselves. A lover of learning, Tiffany enjoys the daily challenges and growth that come along with such a complex and important position.
Tiffany now calls Gardnerville home and makes it her mission to enjoy all that the area has to offer as often as she can. An avid camper, off-roader, hiker and kayaker, Tiffany believes there are few settings as spectacular as the Sierra and is grateful she has them (and all of their glory) right in her backyard.
