To thank you for your brave service, the Nevada Rural Housing Authority is proud to waive the one-time $795 Mortgage Credit Certificate fee for all veterans who have been honorably discharged, all first-time buyers serving on active duty, and all National Guard Service personnel.

Dream Makers Grant

The Dream Makers program provides grants for down payments to first-time homebuyers of modest means who serve our country. Offered through the Pentagon Federal Credit Union, you can apply the grant to a mortgage from any financial institution.

The Dream Makers Grant Program provides a three-to-one matching fund (up to maximum of $5,000) for down payment assistance.

Who Qualifies

  1. Military (Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard or Veteran), a Department of Defense employee or a Department of Homeland Security employee
  2. First-time home buyer, or you have not owned a home for the last three years, or you have lost your home through divorce or disaster
  3. The gross annual income of all applicants used to qualify for mortgage is no more than the greater of:
  4. $55,000, or
  5. 80% of area median income, adjusted for family size

Combining Dream Makers with Home At Last™

You can combine the Dream Makers grant with the Home at Last™ Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) Program and/or the Home at Last™ Down Payment Assistance Grant.
