Home can be so much more than a unit or a lease, and this philosophy is near and dear to Heather’s heart. In her role as Real Estate Operations Director, she oversees the physical, fiscal and regulatory operations of the agency’s real estate assets which includes apartment complexes, single family homes and corporate offices. The nuance: these structures house the clients and employees NRH serves and employs, and Heather knows that the work her team does supports these most important assets of all.

Heather joined the NRHA team in 2016 as the Real Property Administrator and in 2019, she was appointed Director of Real Estate Operations. Prior to NRH, she worked at USDA Rural Development as the only Guaranteed Home Loan Program Administrator for the entire state. During her last year with USDA, she assisted nearly 900 new home owners in rural Nevada. In addition to her professional experience, Heather’s educational accomplishments include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

NRH’s real property portfolio includes 15 multifamily communities that house several hundreds of families across rural Nevada. Along with oversight of NRH’s real property portfolio, Heather is responsible for engaging with public and private financing sources including U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), bonds, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and HOME funds.

Providing decent, safe and sanitary housing in rural Nevada is extremely important to Heather and she is grateful to be a part of the NRH mission. But if that lotto number gets pulled, you might find her building her dream, luxury tree house in Kona, Hawaii, which would be just big enough for her family of four … a place to have fun, play, grow and explore!
