Barry Stone

With an abundance of experience in construction, public service and project management, Barry Stone brings unmatched dedication and expertise to Nevada Rural Housing’s Community Development team. As Associate Director, Barry helps oversee the work of General Contractors on both new residential construction and the rehabilitation of existing multifamily housing — ensuring every project meets the highest standards of quality and care.

Barry’s professional journey is as impressive as it is diverse. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, spent time as a Peace Officer and retired from the Fire Department in Irving, Texas — all while spending more than 40 years in the construction industry, including over two decades designing and building custom homes. Before joining NRH, he managed grant funds and projects for the Nevada Division of Forestry as a Grant Coordinator.

Guided by the principle “Treat others as you wish to be treated,” Barry’s work reflects his belief that home means security, warmth, and connection — the place you always want to come back to.
