Katie Coleman

Katie serves as Communications Director at Nevada Rural Housing, where she leads strategic communications and brand efforts while also guiding the agency’s single-family homeownership programs. Her work is centered on expanding access to affordable housing across rural Nevada and connecting individuals, partners, and communities to the resources that make homeownership and housing stability possible.

She brings a blend of private sector and public agency experience, with a background spanning gaming, healthcare, tech, and other highly regulated industries. This experience shapes her approach to navigating complexity, aligning stakeholders, and delivering meaningful, measurable results in mission-driven work.

Katie’s expertise includes strategic communications planning, cross-channel marketing, data-informed brand strategy, and corporate and executive communications. She has led integrated public relations and content efforts, developed community engagement strategies, and supported team and organizational growth, all with a focus on translating complex challenges into clear, compelling narratives that drive awareness, investment, and action.

Katie holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. A fourth-generation Nevadan, she lives in Reno with her husband and son.
