Salvador “Sonny” Martinez

Technically, Sonny’s job entails assessing qualified clients’ homes for energy efficiency. But there’s more to it for him. He really loves his job because it gives him the opportunity to make a difference – to help someone in need, especially those whose health and safety are improved through measure such as improved HVAC systems and water heaters. Sonny’s dream house is one in Pismo Beach, Calif. But he makes a clear distinction between a house and home – the difference between a place and a feeling. Sonny’s feeling of ‘home’ extends well beyond this life, he says – “Home to me means Heaven.”
