Housing for Homeless and Extremely Low Income Residents
Richards Crossing is a 38-unit affordable housing development for the homeless and extremely low-income individuals. Eight units are reserved for chronically homeless veterans who receive rental assistance from the U.S. Veterans Administration, while the other 30 units receive Section 8 project-based rental assistance.

In addition to providing shelter, the facility provides on-site services and related supportive services as well as referrals to local service organizations to help tenants maintain housing and move towards self-sufficiency. Richards Crossing is located within walking distance of a pharmacy, restaurants and shopping.
Richards Crossing was developed in collaboration with the local Friends In Service Helping (FISH) organization. Financing of this project included the use of 2015 Low Income Housing Tax Credits through the Nevada Housing Division with Richman Group Affordable Housing Corp. and American Express; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HOME Program funds through the Nevada Housing Division; Affordable Housing Program funds through the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and Charles Schwab Bank; Carson City 2016 Community Development Block Grant; and Home Depot Foundation grant funds. Wells Fargo Community Lending and Investment provided construction lending.
Other partners in this project are Praxis Consulting Group, LLC, our development consultant; Steven E. Harriman, Architect on design; and Q&D Construction as our general contractor for construction.
