NRH Wins Prestigious NALHFA Single-Family Excellence Award for Launchpad Program

Nevada Rural Housing (NRH) is thrilled to announce that its transformative Launchpad Homeownership Program has been awarded the Single-Family Excellence Award from the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA). This distinguished honor, presented during the NALHFA 2025 Annual Conference, recognizes NRH's innovative approach to expanding homeownership opportunities for rural Nevadans.

The Launchpad Homeownership Program, introduced in May 2024, is designed to break down barriers for first-time homebuyers facing challenges in a high-cost market. Leveraging a $25 million single-family mortgage revenue bond issue, the program offers below-market fixed mortgage rates and down payment assistance to make homeownership accessible and affordable. In its first year, Launchpad empowered nearly 80 families to secure homes across rural Nevada, with the first 60 days focused exclusively on southern Nevada.

The program's success was made possible through strategic partnerships, including support from the Charles and Phyllis M. Frias Charitable Trust. Charles and Phyllis Frias, known for their legacy of community support in southern Nevada, have been long-time partners of NRH, advancing affordable housing solutions across the state.

This marks the third time Nevada Rural Housing has been recognized with a NALHFA Award of Excellence for its homeownership programs. NRH previously received the award for its innovative "Buy in Nye" homeownership program and its comprehensive homebuyer education platform, HAL U.

The NALHFA Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding local housing finance agencies that demonstrate leadership in affordable housing finance, community development, and economic growth.
