The Rural Rocks $20K Homeownership Program helps rural Nevadans achieve homeownership with up to $20,000 in assistance!

Program Highlights:
  • $20,000 per borrower can be used in one of two ways:
          - Total amount toward down payment/closing costs, or
          - Down payment/closing costs paired with a permanent rate reduction.
  • Assistance is paired with a fixed-rate, 30-year mortgage.
  • There is no scheduled payments or interest accrued on assistance. Assistance is forgiven after 30-years.
  • One borrower must be an essential worker (healthcare, education, public safety, or construction) and a Nevada resident for at least 6 months*.
  • No first-time homebuyer requirement.
  • Household income limits apply (based on county).

For Lenders

Already a participating lender? Look for your company on this list under Rural Rocks. If it’s there, you’re good to go! If your company isn’t on the list, a designated representative from your organization will need to fill out the required forms.

Nevada Rural Housing requires Lender Education for Branch managers, Loan Officers and support staff who reserve loans. Lender Education can be found here.
